影片内容介绍：
《沉重人生》主角都是体重272kg以上的胖子。A组记录了他们去休斯顿著名减肥医生Now博士的诊所时的反复挣扎，并穿插了他们肥胖的原因。哪些节目报道了这些肥胖者的痛苦、挣扎和偶尔的救赎过程，吸引了大量的人观看。
在减肥康复中心相遇并相爱后，李和丽娜一直在健康和愤怒的问题中挣扎，并拼命试图挽救他们的关系和生命。
体重超过600磅的珍妮几乎不动，在公寓里依靠一辆摩托车。在重大变故的情况下，曾经的大码模特，在从西雅图搬到休斯顿做减肥手术的过程中，步履维艰。
艾丽西娅选择了减肥手术，希望能和男友有未来，成为她的姨妈。
Liz因为体重问题卧床不起，导致了严重的淋巴水肿。她的阿姨和看护甚至不能在床上给她洗澡。利兹知道她的生命危在旦夕，所以她接受了减肥手术。
